چکیده
Let x ∈ R be given. As we know the, amount of bits needed to binary code x with given accuracy (h ∈ R) is approximately mh(x) ≈ log2(max{1, | h |}). We consider the problem where we should translate the origin a so that the mean amount of bits needed to code randomly chosen element from a realization of a random variable X is minimal. In other words, we want to find a ∈ R such that R 3 a→ E(mh(X − a)) attains minimum. We show that under reasonable assumptions, the choice of a does not depend on h asymptotically. Consequently, we reduce the problem to finding minimum of the function R 3 a→ ∫ R ln(|x− a|)f(x)dx, where f is the density distribution of the random variable X . Moreover, we provide constructive approach for determining a.

AM281, Cannabinoid Antagonist/Inverse agonist, Ameliorates Scopolamine-Induced Cognitive Deficit
Objective(s) Cannabinoids have been implicated in memory deficit. We examined the effect of AM281, cannabinoid antagonist/inverse agonist in prevention of scopolamine-induced cognitive deficit. Materials and Methods Object recognition task was used to evaluate memory in mice. Exploration time in the first and the second trial was recorded. The differences in exploration between a previously...
متن کاملThe Effect of Saffron Aqueous Extract and Crocin on PTSD Rat Models: The Focus on Learning and Spatial Memory
Background & Objective: Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety reaction, which occurs as a result of encountering a seriously traumatic event during one’s lifetime. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of saffron aqueous extract and crocin on spatial memory and learning with the Barnes maze in a PTSD model on male Wistar rats (Weighting 200–250 gr). Materials & Method...
متن کاملEvaluation of the neuroprotective, anticonvulsant, and cognition-improvement effects of apigenin in temporal lobe epilepsy: Involvement of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway
Objective(s): Cognitive deficit is a common problem in epilepsy. A major concern emergent from the use of antiepileptic drugs includes their side effects on learning and memory. Herbal medicine is considered a complementary and alternative therapy in epilepsy. Apigenin is a safe flavone with antioxidant properties. However, there is little information about the benefic...
متن کاملCurcumin-Loaded BSA Nanoparticles Protect More Efficiently Than Natural Curcumin Against Scopolamine-Induced Memory Retrieval Deficit
Introduction: There is evidence indicating that the rate of AD is lower in curry consuming populations. Then, there is an effort to elucidate if curcumin -as the main ingredient of turmeric- might affect the process of AD. However, in clinical trials of AD, a six-month curcumin treatment failed to show any progress, which might be attributable to its low bioavailability. In this line, a recent ...
متن کاملEffect of Pentoxifylline on Ischemia- induced Brain Damage and Spatial Memory Impairment in Rat
Objective(s) The brief interruption of cerebral blood flow causes permanent brain damage and behavioral dysfunction. The hippocampus is highly vulnerable to ischemic insults, particularly the CA1 pyramidal cell layer. There is no effective pharmacological strategy for improving brain tissue damage induced by cerebral ischemia. Previous studies reported that pentoxifylline (PTX) has a neuroprot...
متن کاملProbiotics Lactobacillus plantarum and Bifidobacterium B94: cognitive function in demyelinated model
Background: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the immune system that creates damage of Learning and memory in that. Using probiotic supplements is recommended for preventing MS disease and improving memory. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Lactobacillus Plantarum (LP) and bifidobacterium B94 (BB94), on acquisition phase of spatial memory in the local demyelination...
